About SCOG
We are a constituted community group set up to engage with hidden communities within Southend. We reach out and understand what issues communtites and neighbourhoods are facing and then set up action groups to map out priority plans for each area we support. We use community days as a method to engage and recruit community activists.
The Southend Community Outreach Group (SCOG) has been formed by residents for residents, to reach out to communities, understand the issues that they are facing and empower them to overcome these issues.
The Group assist local areas of deprivation to have a voice and say in local service provision. The main aim of the group is to promote various forms of resident involvement and reduce social isolation in Southend.

Our Mission Statement
Social housing residents in Southend live within the top 20% most deprived wards in the country and SCOG represents residents in these areas. They have found that often the traditional methods of involvement can prohibit hidden communities; to overcome this they engage with residents through a variety of creative ways.
